In September 2021 The E J Whitten Foundation and the Australian Prostate Centre (APC) joined forces to build RULE Prostate Cancer to amplify the fight against prostate cancer.
The E J Whitten Foundation was established in 1995 in honour of the great Ted Whitten Senior who passed away from prostate cancer, and has raised over 15 million dollars for promoting men’s health and prostate cancer research.
APC began as a research facility in 2012 collaborating with institutions around the world to advance the treatment of prostate cancer. In 2014 they opened the doors to their North Melbourne centre based in Melbourne’s biomedical precinct.
Since then, APC have collaborated in vital research, continued to host the Asia Pacific conference for over 650 prostate cancer specialists and leaders, opened the APC Prostate Cancer Genomics Clinic to advance treatment options for our patients and we have helped over 25,000 patients and their families with our unique co-located specialists.
WE CAN PROTECT OUR LEGENDS.
Prostate cancer is the second most diagnosed cancer in Australian men. There were nearly 20,000 men diagnosed last year. Sadly, it is the second highest cause of cancer related deaths in Australian men.
With education & awareness encouraging regular testing, found early enough, with the right treatment and care, prostate cancer doesn’t have to be a death sentence. Australian men, our Aussie Legends can be protected.
